Unasi's Aliases

Unasi has a habit of using multiple aliases in an apparent attempt to conceal the extent of his operations. In any case, the full list of aliases can be found by conducting searches of domain dispute cases involving the 3 registrars Belgiumdomains, Capitaldomains, and Domaindoorman. The following table lists every domain dispute filed with the National Arbitration Forum and the World Intellectual Property Organization where the Respondent of the disputed domain(s) used on or more of the 3 registrars. It should be noted that for each of these disputes, the Respondent exclusively used the 3 registrars Belgiumdomains, Capitaldomains, and Domaindoorman, except in early cases when the Respondent also used Dotregister, a former business of iHoldings.

Duplicate Addresses:

Matching the above respondents by the addresses listed in the Panel Decisions (strictly copied from the original WHOIS information for the domains), we immediately see that several of names have matching addresses (colors in the table below indicate identical addresses). Note the use of registrar Dotregister by the first two aliases (which are no longer used).

Slim Chance

Although there is nothing particularly odd about a person using multiple registrars, the odds of so many different people using the same three registrars is practically non-existent.

WHOIS history

Looking through archived Whois information¹, we can immediately verify that Unasi, Inc. and Domaincar are the same operation. WHOIS information for Unasi.com dated 2005 shows that the domain is registered to Unasi Inc. in Panama, and that the admin email is "info@domaincar.com".

The below image shows 2006 WHOIS information - unasi.com is now registered to Domain Car c/o Perthshire Marketing with the British Virgin Islands address used often by Domaincar.

A case decided by the World Intellectual Property Organization also found Unasi and Domaincar to be the same person - below is an excerpt from the Panel Decision of Rheem Manufacturing Company v. Domaincar c/o Perthshire Marketing and Domaincar:²

The Respondent registered the domain names as "Unasi" and has now changed the registration information to reflect "Domaincar" as the registrant. Since registering these domain names, the Respondent has also changed the postal addresses, telephone and fax numbers listed in each registration. The actual registrant of the domain names will never provide the correct contact information in the Whois records for the domain names but rather continue to hide behind false and inaccurate contact details.

In a later WIPO case, based on evidence presented, it was decided that Domaincar/Perthshire is the same person as both Web Advertising Corp. and Keyword Marketing, Inc. In Edmunds.com, Inc. v. Web Advertising, Corp. / Keyword Marketing, Inc.³, the panelist states:

The Complaint relates to two domain names with differing registrants, i.e. Web Advertising, Corp. and Keyword Marketing, Inc. respectively...Further material provided by the Complainant establishes that at an earlier date, September 3, 2006, a Whois database search revealed the same registrant details (Pertshire Marketing Ltd, of the West Indies) for both domain names. In spite of the change of registrant details the website content remained substantially the same.

TridentTrust

TridentTrust, a company which lists 20 offices around the world, happens to have addresses identical to Unasi. From information found on a site related to TridentTrust, it appears that one of TridentTrusts services allows companies to use its addresses for a fee. Below is a portion of TridentTrust's worldwide directory.⁴

The following table lists all of Johnny Typo's past and present operations with addresses outside the US. The table highlights the addresses that match identically to addresses of TridentTrust. Active aliases and business names connected with Johnny Typo are listed at the top of the table, with aliases no longer used listed at the bottom.
